Housekeeping for 2026

I guess this is a thing I do now!

I played through Shadow of the Colossus over the winter break. I used to play it as a kid, but I could never get past the 7th colossus. I find it much easier now. It kind of felt like a victory lap. It’s such a beautiful game, and maybe everything I want out of fantasy.

The blog has been nice! My attention jumps around a lot, and sometimes I take breaks from rpgs, but I think this year I proved to myself that I will keep coming back to the blog.

I also like the continuity maintaining the blog gives my projects. I often start things and don’t finish them, and so having a place to put mostly-polished ideas where they aren’t just rotting in a text document has been helpful.

I might end up migrating, which would probably suck, but may be for the best. I find Blogger kind of frustrating, but I’m not totally sold on other options. My RSS feed also might be kinda bricked, since my posts don’t seem to show up in people’s blogrolls for a couple hours, which is annoying. I spent a bunch of time troubleshooting, and at this point I’m hoping it resolves itself somehow.

If anything big changes with the blog I’ll make a post about it.

2025:

I ran a bunch of games, which was nice! I’d always like to be running more than I am. I got to run Wolves Upon the Coast for a bit, which was great!

Wanted to make a zine this year, but it didn’t happen. Ended up being pretty stupid busy during the summer, and when it’s not summer I have school. Spring will be my last semester though, so we’ll see what happens from there.

I’ve been drawing more! I like drawing. Stopped doing it for several years, still don’t totally know why. It’s good to make stuff.

2026:

Stuff for next year:

  • Run more games (this is always on the list).
  • Draw more, draw with ink, draw with colour.
  • Paint some minis. Build a little army or something.
  • Blog more, blog when it makes sense to. Chat more with rpg folks, be a bit more social.
  • Do more of those shorter posts I’ve been doing! I find making those to be really fun!
  • Play cards with friends.
  • Take own disability seriously. Get better about using my mobility aids.
  • Find ways to run games which make them happen more. Running my one-on-one game has been great for that, but I want to try some other things too!
Games I’d like to run:
  • More Vampire Queen!
  • Pick up Wolves of Summer when the snow melts?
  • Mercenaries game in a Chainmail/od&d thing.
  • Game about dreams.
  • Classic Traveller?
  • Hagfish Hall calls out in the night.
